Some games challenge your thinking capacity. Some games want you to feel smart. On the other hand, some games hate you and your brain. A lot. They’re full of random, obscure puzzles that will gnaw away at your very being until you dream of sea-gulls, evil goats and Shakespeare stanzas so extensively that even Leonardo DiCaprio will think twice about stepping into that mess. Here’s our picks for the top 15 toughest puzzles in video games. Stress ball not included.

The Rubber Ducky – The Longest Journey

The infamous  rubber ducky is a key character in The Longest Journey…mostly because of the horrible struggle you need to go through to progress with it. You need to retrieve a key from an electrified subway track by gathering a clamp, a clothesline, a rubber ducky – which has to be punctured by throwing breadcrumbs at it to attract sea-gulls (and don’t worry, those damn sea-gulls will come up again later), inflate it again, fit the clamp in, deflate the duck and finally get the key. A gold ring was involved somewhere. We don’t care and neither should you.
