#18. ALYX VANCE (HALF-LIFE)
When a character supplants a series’ main protagonist and becomes the more compelling personality, you there’s something special there. Sure, Gordon Freeman hasn’t been much of a character for most of the series, but Alyx Vance instantly became a fan favourite when she first made an appearance in Half-Life 2. From then on, she’s grown increasingly important to the series and its larger story, and even stepped into the leading role in 2020’s Half-Life: Alyx.
