The open world of Mafia 2 didn’t have a copious amount of things to do, but the authenticity of the 1940s setting made it feel truly unique. It also offered a cast of likeable characters, and truly made the player feel like they were rising through the ranks in a gangster empire. Mafia 3 will be set in the 1960s New Orleans in the middle of the Vietnam War. It looks more brutal and more picturesque and will further realize the hard as nails gangster lifestyle.
