Quake 3: Arena

Quake 3 has been extensively used in professional sports events like Cyber Athlete Professional League and Quake Con which just goes to show the popularity of the game is still there even after 11 long years. The hype behind the game went so big that it saw numerous platform releases on the Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, DS, PSP and Android systems. Couple that with the extensive mod library and you have the most definitive first person shooter experience.


Deus Ex

Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings

One of the funniest things that comes to mind is that a Microsoft published game was released on a Sony console. Age of Empires was released on the PC and PlayStation 2, but as you all know the real fun of playing an RTS lies on a PC. The game was a major improvement over its predecessor with critics appreciating the ability to create profiles for different players and AI of the villagers which helps the players in combat.
