Though the original made a huge impact, it was the sequel that took every aspect and dialed it up to 11. Bigger set pieces, more enemies and bosses, incredible environments and an expanded combat interface combined with an outstanding story and bad-ass protagonist elevated it as one of the last great PS2 games. In comparison, God of War 3 was slightly sobering but when faced with this level of quality, it’s understandable.
