To understand the importance of StarCraft, one must understand that there are entire leagues in countries like Korea devoted to competing in the game. With three species – Protoss, Terran, and Zerg – StarCraft took the basic RTS elements introduced by WarCraft and gave it a healthy dosage of sci-fi tactics and planning.
