Ubisoft Believes Both Xbox One and PS4 Will Have Sold 30 Million By March 2015

Staggering numbers.

PS4 Xbox one

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are both doing great for themselves- the latter has broken all records, and sold 7 million units already, while the former is at 5 million units shipped so far. Both systems are selling at unprecedented rates, and Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot believes that there is no reason to temper enthusiasm about their performance going forwards.

Speaking in an earnings call yesterday, Guillemot said that he believes that by March of 2015, both the consoles will have sold a combined 30 million units worldwide.

Incidentally, this sounds rather outlandishly high, because it more than doubles their combined install base as of right now, but then again, we don’t know how sales of both systems will pick up as games actually start being released for them later this year, and with the holiday season and launches in other territories, they might just manage to sell even faster than they already have. We’ll see.
