Child of Light is Ubisoft’s gorgeous looking 2D sidescrolling JRPG for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, and Wii U that releases later this month. The beautiful game, which has been developed using the UbiArt engine that powers Rayman Legends, is especially notable for its striking artstyle. The video that you see above walks us through the artwork development process, with legendary Japanese designer and illustrator Yoshitaka Amano, showing us how he worked in collaboration with the game development team to create some eye catchingly gorgeous artwork inspired by the game.

The beautiful art only adds to the game’s stunning atmosphere, which aims to recreate the charm of classic Japanese role playing games; with some of Ubisoft’s top talent working on Child of Light, the game promises to be one of Ubisoft’s best.

The game is due out on April 30 on all current gen and next gen consoles, along with PC.
