Ubisoft Unveil New Assassin’s Creed 3 Details

Further to GameInformer’s April 2012 Assassin’s Creed 3 cover reveal at the beginning of March, the full details of which can be found on NeoGaf, GamingBolt have a sumptuous platter of fresh AC3 info for your consumption:

  • Around 30% of missions will take place in the Frontier.
  • Frotiner is 4km– 1.5 x size of Rome in Assassin’s Creed 2.
  • The game has ‘double’ the production capacity of the ‘Ezio Trilogy’.
  • Rope Dart weapon is confirmed, allowing for some very brutal tree-based kills.
  • Game takes place over 30 year period 1753 – 1783.
  • Connor joins the Brotherhood in 1770 – suggests pre-Assassin gameplay.
  • Everything in the Frontier is traversable.
  • Climbing system based on real-life rock climbing.
  • Terrain and weather has a direct effect on Connor – the snow slows you down to no end.
  • Revamped control system.
  • Assassin’s Creed 3 will be about Connor seeking ‘justice’.
  • Connor’s Mohawk village was razed as a child.
  • Mohawk villages feature in game
  • Simultaneous Motion capture, face-capture and voice over. A first for videogames.
  • Vastly improved cloth textures.
  • Combat ‘more brutal’ than ever before.
  • Bears, wolves, deer and dogs will feature in the game.
  • Moving Leaps of Faith now possible.
  • Connor will have a least a: tomahawk, knife, bow, musket, hidden blade.
  • Wall cover system.
  • Bodies/enemies can be used as cover.
  • Foliage/bushes used automatically for stealth.
  • Greater Animus integration, now fully 3D within the game.
  • Emphasis on gameplay being a ‘simulation’ of the past.
  • Snow will feature footprints and blood trails of enemies, a core part of gameplay.
  • Weather system will feature: sun, rain, fog, snow and ice. Possibly dynamic.
  • Weather affects combat, muskets don’t work in rain.
  • Greater NPC interaction with player/eachother.
  • Revamped crowd AI – NPCs will come much closer to Connor than before.
  • Waller T. Patton, Confederate Lieutenant Colonel, as NPC.
  • City streets wider than before – historically accurate, creating new urban challenges.
  • Building interiors – short-cuts can be taken through some buildings
  • Siege of Boston, Battle of Bunker Hill both confirmed as in-game events.
