Supermassive Games has made a number of games, but the one game that they are known for the most is Until Dawn, the unlikely horror cinematic adventure game that launched for the PS4 in 2014, and became a fan favorite. Nothing they have done since has actually followed up on that game’s success- a large part of which might have to do with, well, them mostly choosing to stick with the Until Dawn universe, via misguided spinoffs for PlayStation VR and PlayLink.

But maybe, this next game of theirs will be just the Until Dawn style follow up people have been expecting from the developer since 2014. The developer has trademarkedShattered State” in Europe, which indicates that they may be preparing to unveil a brand new IP (via ResetEra). It seems there’s a logo to go along with the registration as well. Now, and here is the interesting thing- unlike Until Dawn, which Sony owns, Shattered State is owned directly by Supermassive. Could this new game by them be multiplatform? Who knows…

Maybe this is a game that gets announced at Gamescom this year. Maybe this is the Bandai Namco game that was being teased? If so, we will find out in a few days anyway.
