Gaijin Entertainment’s runaway hit military MMO, War Thunder, is getting a new update on PC that adds a slew of new features and content to the game.

Update 1.37 includes a new progression system, numerous new planes and combat maps, DirectX 11 support and many other improvements. There are over 20 new aircrafts being introduced, including the long-awaited Ki-84 Japanese fighter and German attack plane Hs.129B-3, bringing the total number of aircraft available in game to over 300.

Eight new maps are also part of the package, though all maps will feel new to players thanks to overhauled rendering techniques, which owes itself to the brand new DirectX 11 support.

As for the new progression system, players can now choose what they want to unlock next, which allows them to specialize in their chosen research branch faster and better.

War Thunder will soon be getting an expansion on PC too- Ground Forces, which will unlock tanks, and other ground based military vehicles, allowing players even more choice in how they choose to approach the game.
