The competitive shooter is a pretty crowded field nowadays, and one that sees a lot of games launch, flop and the world move on. But leave it to Riot Games to cut through the clutter with Valorant. The game ran in beta for several weeks before officially launching earlier today. Riot Games hopes to do with the shooter genre what League of Legends does for MOBA, a game that remains consistently on the top of viewership for online game streaming. Unfortunately, while the quality of Valorant is largely being praised, it does seem as if today’s launch got onto a bit of a rough start, especially depending on your region.

Players that jumped headfirst into the game weren’t all met with smooth sailings. It seems as if there was some serious server issues early on in the EU and servers were swiftly taken down for “emergency maintenance.” Not long afterward the same happened with APAC and SEA regions for the same reason.

It’s not just servers being down, players form every region have encountered issues with not being able to get their rewards from battle passes, as well as people not being able to access beta rewards or have the ability to purchase items.

As you can see below from the official Twitter, Riot Games is trying to stay on top of things. It seems most region servers are up now, though some users are still seemingly having issues. It seems despite the lengthy beta period, Valorant has had a bit of a rocky start with its launch.
