A few weeks back we had reported that Valve will be launching their own game guides on it’s popular digital distribution system: Steam. Today, this new feature has gone live, Valve announced.
This new feature allows players to create their own walkthroughs for other players on Steam. It is not a new idea and have been implemented by several video game publications. But given the massive community Steam has, it will be interesting to see how successful it will turn out to be.
Just like any other guide website, players can upload images, embed videos and help other players who might be stuck. It’s a shame that players can upload videos though. The guides will be accessible via the Steam Overlay.
It is interesting to see Valve pushing the community in to several directions even though this latest initiative seems a bit outdated. But regardless, what do you think? Are you a heavy Steam user? If yes, are you going to use the guide feature?
