The first Mafia game is widely acknowledged to be a great crime action adventure game, a breath of fresh air and a distinctly alternative take on the genre at a time when every game was trying to be like Grand Theft Auto. The second game, however, was considered to be a letdown, and it has many outspoken and vocal critics.
That said, there is excitement for a third entry in the series, and there are many who are looking forward to it. If you are one of those people, then good news- Voice actor Rick Pasqualone, who played Mafia II protagonist Vito Scaletta in the 2010 game, recently teased on Twitter that a new Mafia game may be announced soon.
“Might have some Mafia news very soon,” he said to one fan. When another fan basically outright said, “make Mafia 3,” Pasqualone replied: “Might have some exciting news very soon.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time we have heard of Mafia 3, but its development has apparently been very troubled- at one point, the game was rumored to be a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, and it is very clear that didn’t happen. However, now it seems like the game may finally be about to emerge from its development hell and into the public eye. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more information.
