War Thunder is a free-to-play MMO and is a vehicular combat game. The game features over a thousand different vehicles that range from the Spanish Civil War to the Cold War period and also representing American, French, Italian military vehicles and more.

While the game had previously been exclusive for the Playstation 4 and the PC, it has now been announced that the game will be making its way over to the Xbox One. Since the game has 4K support for the PS4, we can expect to see the game run very well on the Xbox One X.

The game has been developed by Gaijin Entertainment and its CEO Anton Yudintsev stated the following as part of a press release:

“Our fans have been asking for War Thunder on Xbox One and we have been working toward bringing its crossplay experience to them. We are thrilled to announce that we have reached an agreement with Microsoft to bring War Thunder to Xbox One and Xbox One X. More than 20 million players have enjoyed War Thunder across multiple platforms and we cannot wait for Xbox One and Xbox One X owners to join the battle.”

It will be interesting to see if the game supports cross-play across Xbox One, Xbox One X and PC as is the case with Microsoft’s other titles like Sea of Thieves. As of now, we have no release date regarding the Xbox One version.
