Everplay’s Warhounds has just got a new release date trailer, along with a closer look at its gameplay and the heroes we’re going to be controlling.
If you haven’t been aware of this one, it’s set in an alternate-world future Africa where you take control of members of a special unit on a very important mission. It brings an old-school action film vibe to the experience while implementing a turn-based tactical gameplay loop that looks quite challenging if you want to truly master everything that it has to offer. Even more welcome is the news that your rewards and progress aren’t RNG-reliant and that this one’s more about your skills and ability to adapt to the battlefield.
Unique fighters, weapons, a base-building system, and a story that might manage to hold your attention while getting you invested in its outcomes are also on the table, so there’s a lot to look forward to when this one drops for PC on August 11, 2026.
It’s inspired by greats like Jagged Alliance and XCOM, and the trailer below shows off enough to display those inspirations with unabashed confidence. That’s always a good sign in our book, and we’re pretty eager to try this one out.
