… Talk about a case of extreme enthusiasm.
Warren Spector, creator of such games as System Shock, Thief, and the upcoming Wii exclusive Disney’s Epic Mickey, seems to have issued one of the most passionate responses to Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS handheld, so much so that you almost begin to feel as if the guy has no life. No, seriously.
Writing on his blog, Spector stated that the 3DS is ‘the coolest thing ever,’ that ‘Nintendo has got 3D right,’ and that ‘[the 3DS] changed my mind about 3D.’ He went on to say that ‘[3D] is not a fad, it’s here to stay.’
Now, while I respect Mr Spector, and all that he has done for gaming, all his accomplishments, and his humility, I simply fail to see how a game machine could change anybody’s life. Looks like he takes his hobby quite seriously.
The 3DS, in case the twenty seven million news articles we’ve posted about it in the last couple of days didn’t specify, is Nintendo’s successor to the uber powerful DS line of handhelds. It is due for release by 31st March 2010. No other details, including its price, are known yet.
