Watch Dogs 2 is now little over a month away from release. So naturally, in keeping with the Ubisoft hype cycle, the time has come for us to see more and more of it. A brand new video for the game that was just uploaded to Ubisoft’s YouTube channel discusses the story of the game, enumerating the motivations that Marcus, the protagonist, has for joining DeadSec, as well as the general direction that the narrative of the game takes.
It also deconstructs the general themes that the story of the game will touch upon, while also giving us an insight into what the villain’s motivations will be. While stories in video games are almost uniformly laughable, this video gives me some hope that the story for Watch Dogs 2 will be good for what it is. At the very least, it can’t be worse than the story in the first game, right?
Watch Dogs 2 is due out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in November.
