The lighting data for the game took our render farm two weeks

One of my many jobs was a 3D graphic artist and as a 3D graphic artist one of the tasks include modeling a certain character, background, textures and so on. However there are lighting artists for each game and movie, now you may wonder why do you need a separate lighting artist, well because Lighting is not as easy as it sounds and requires a lot of experience and calculations. For example at any one location you would have at least 200 lights and each of them with different settings. So it would come as no surprise that the lighting data in Dragon Age Origins took two weeks to render, and that a lot of hours and processing power.
