As opposed to 2009, ’10 was a great year for the Wii. Not only did it get the super-successful Super Mario Galaxy 2, it also some other really great games, which may have gone unnoticed by many. Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, GoldenEye 007, Epic Mickey, Sin and Punishment 2, No More Heroes 2 and many, many others. But the question is this- which great games should you buy for your Wii this holiday season? We will be listing below some of the best Wii games this year to make it easier for you to decide which you should spend your money on.

GAMES

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Not only is Super Mario Galaxy 2 the best Wii game this year, but most probably also the best Wii game ever. All the perfect and nigh-perfect scores that it got across the board from players and critics alike, all the millions of copies it sold… it deserves it all. Pure perfection is what Super Mario Galaxy 2 represents, and because of this very perfection and the amount of fun it offers, it’s worth every penny you spend on it.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn

Praised not just for its quirky, innovative and extremely charming visual palette, but for it’s fun and addictive gameplay as well, Kirby’s Epic Yarn was like the perfect comeback for Nintendo’s pink fluffy mascot on a home console. Epic Yarn is perhaps one of the most innovative and different games in recent memory, and should definitely be bough by all platforming lovers.

Donkey Kong Country Returns

Being developed by Retro, and being the comeback of the wonderful Donkey Kong Country brand name after such a long time, we had a lot of expectations from the game, and somehow, it actually managed to meet up to them, if not exceed them. Representing everything that Nintendo and its games do- fun- Country Returns is totally bang worth the buck, and should definitely be on all Wii owners’ wish lists.

GoldenEye 007

With GoldenEye 007 for the Wii, Eurocom did the impossib;e- they recreated Rare’s masterpiece on the N64. Though not exactly a remake, with all the differences in the game, GoldenEye maintained the superiority and quality its name is associated with, and managed to provide a great lot of gameplay hours of fun with a multiplayer component thrown into the mix. No shooter fan should miss this one.

Monster Hunter Tri

One can clock countless hours into any Monster Hunter game, and Monster Hunter Tri represents the pinnacle of that level of quality of addiction. With tonnes of variety, brilliant Role Playing mechanics and a very addictive gameplay system, Monster Hunteri Tri is, along with being the best Monster Hunter game, one of the best games to have hit the Wii ever.
