8. Yarn Yoshi

Set to be released at some point in 2014, Yarn Yoshi is a side-scrolling action game. The second Yoshi game following the lead of Yoshi Story is very similar to Kirby’s Epic Yarn. It was way past the time Nintendo came with a Yoshi game. Yarn Yoshi’s absence at the E3 2013 was widely felt but the game wasn’t ready to be showcased by then. The game has an environment rendered completely from textile and fabric. The game will have Yoshi capering through this thready environment, gobbling up stuff and gaining power ups. What the story of the game would entail, is still veiled from us. It’s not much to go on but it’s Yoshi after all and the game’s trailer tells quite a bit of how the gameplay may look like. Depending on what kind of shrewdness and innovation the developers show with the unique concept of a fabric based world, Yarn Yoshi could leave a fine impression on us this year.
