Nintendo has released a new system firmware update for its struggling console, Wii U. Titled version 5.0, the new update adds a Quick Start menu to fire up any of the most recently used games and applications. The firmware update also brings the ability for GamePad to show notifications which is pretty cool since users can can download and install it without rebooting the console.

The new update will also allow Nintendo to send any updates, news and announcements it may have. This feature can be disabled if you find it annoying. The system can also install future updates just by staying in stand by mode and user can skip the Home loading screen by selecting your last used software.

What are your thoughts about this latest update? Do you think Nintendo is on the right track? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below and stay tuned for more news and updates.
