Wii U won’t have friend codes

Yay? Damn right.

Posted By | On 08th, Nov. 2012

This is a great news, in fact incredible news as Nintendo have confirmed that the Wii U will not have friend codes. The latter is something that can be termed as a nuisance and very unfriendly to the user who uses the said system.

Nintendo have finally understood that and have scrapped it with the Wii U. It will have some sort of a Nintendo Network id according to them.

Destructoid have snooped around and have found out that each system can host multiple ids just like the PS3 and Xbox 360.

“Our plan is replace Friend Codes with a much more user-friendly Account ID system,” a spokesperson for Nintendo told them.

Well this is good news and hopefully should make plenty of people buy the system, I know I am interested in it too. Friend codes are something that can be termed as a primitive network design, and something that shouldn’t really be used in 2012. Glad Nintendo rectified this with a proper system and hopefully more third-party publishers take advantage of it.
