Wo Long Fallen Dynasty (14)

There are a total of 31 bosses in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and this guide is here to demonstrate the best ways to defeat them. However, before we begin, here are a few tips that work perfectly against all bosses. So, if you’re having a hard time beating them, following these hints can give you a better edge. Let’s begin!

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Boss Fight Tips

Best Wizardry Spells Combination – If you’re set on a build class, stick with Earth and Fire. They provide a decent balance of melee and ranged casting. There is also the option to stun your enemies and attack them from far away.

Defense is the best Offense – Counterattacking is risky as you’re more likely to get caught into one of the enemy’s combos. It’s better to simply cast a stunning spell, attack and then retreat until the enemy is done with their next combo.

Prepare Yourself before the Fight – Having all the Dragon’s Cure Pots available dramatically boosts your survivability.

Call for Help – Call for reinforcements using the Tiger Seals if you’re struggling with a boss fight.

Wo Long: Dynasty All Boss Fights Guide

Here is a list of all the boss fights available in the game. We’ve also attached a small video at the end of each section for most of the bosses so that you can learn first-hand how to defeat them.

Zhang Liang, General of Man

Weakness – There is an opening when you deflect his critical blows. Weak to Lightning phase attacks (but you can use any elemental attacks since it’s a tutorial boss).

Zhang Liang is a fairly easy boss to beat. Simply deflect his critical blows and use the opening to push through. The game doesn’t have a stamina mechanic, so you can keep attacking without any blowback. However, do step back from time to time to practice your deflecting skills.

Zhuyan

Weakness – Most vulnerable when doing the charging attack and weak to Earth phase spells.

Zhuyan is a giant ape, and most of his attacks are well telegraphed. You should have no trouble deflecting them. Keep chipping away at his health and waiting for him to charge in with his feet. If you manage to deflect the attack successfully, the creature will be stunned for a few moments. Use that window to deal massive amounts of damage. You should be able to defeat him within 2-3 charge attacks. Watch this video guide for more details.

Fengxi

Weakness – Very little movement speed

The giant demon doesn’t pose much of a challenge. With easy-to-read slow attacks, you can easily dodge out of the way or deflect them without any risk. The best way to defeat him is to attack from the other side. Don’t face him head on, and when you have the opportunity, be aggressive with your attacks.

Zhang Bao

Weakness – Weak to water based attacks. Also, it doesn’t have too many attack patterns.

Zhang Bao is one of the easiest bosses in the game. The best way to defeat him is to call for reinforcements using the Spirit Bar. If you’re exhausted, simply deflect his fire spells to fill it back up. While the reinforcements are engaged in battle, move in for a few blows before jumping back and maintaining the distance between you two. Repeat the process, and you’ll beat him in no time.

Zhuyan

Weakness – Same as Zhang Bao, General of Earth.

You’ll face Zhuyan once again during this mission. The strategy is the same as before. Keep deflecting his attacks while looking for openings in his defenses.

Zhang Jiao

Weakness – Weak to Water and Earth damage.

The key strategy here is to let the Sun do all the damage. Deflect the incoming attacks to build your spirit meter and encourage Sun. Only go in for a Fatal Strike once the lock-on turns red.

Aoye

Weakness – Weak to Fire damage.

Aoye is one of the toughest bosses in the game. Aoye has several movesets, and all of them are randomized, making it impossible to defeat on your first try. Don’t be overly aggressive, and deflect as many attacks as you can. Only move in when he’s taking a break, land a few hits, and get to a safe distance. Do some practice runs to familiarize yourself with his attack patterns. Watch this video guide for more details.

Suanyu

Weakness – Very fragile enemy. Simply dodge attacks and keep hitting him.

The fight may appear difficult to newbies, but it’s simply annoying. Sunayu can blend into its dark environment, making it hard to land shots and deflect incoming attacks. However, he will become much easier to defeat once your eyes adjust to the surroundings. Watch this video guide for more details.

Baishe

Weakness – Weak to Fire phase spells.

Baishe has a bunch of attacks, but all of them are easily dodgeable. The spinning attack can chin up to two times, which can be a bit difficult to dodge when there are poison pools lying all around the room. Her critical attacks also deal massive damage, so deflecting is a priority. She can soak up a ton of damage, so gear up for a long fight.

Zhang Rang

Weakness – Summons a bunch of clones. Get rid of them before attacking the boss and he is weak to Metal and Fire phase spells.

Upon entering the room, kill all the clones (with health bars above their heads) except ones as they easily go down with a heavy attack. Zhang Rang will summon a fresh batch of them if you kill them all. Once the herd is thinned, start attacking the boss. It’s a battle of attrition, so take turns attacking the boss and the clones. Watch this video guide for more details.

Lu Bu

Weakness – Weak against Water based attacks.

Lu Bu is the second hardest boss in the game. It’s impossible to attack him while he’s riding the horse. Simply deflect his attacks to do spiritual damage. Once he unmounts, you’ll have more opportunities to attack him. Watch this video guide for more details.

Sun Ce and Sun Jian

Weakness – Both are melee attackers. Use the range to your advantage. Sun Ce is weak to Water and Earth phase spells, and Sun Jian is weak to Fire and Wood phase spells.

Maintain a safe distance and deflect attacks. Once Sun Ce’s health bar is almost empty, Sun Jian will join the fight. Don’t engage him right away. Defeat Sun Ce first before switching targets. Watch this video guide for more details.

Taotie

Weakness – Weak to Metal and Fire phase spells.

It’s difficult to land a hit on the huge monster. Simply keep aiming at his eyes and legs, and you should be able to defeat him with ease. Stay close to the creature, as it doesn’t have any ranged attacks. Watch this video guide for more details.

Sun Jian

Weakness – Weak to Wood and Fire phase spells.

Seemingly straightforward fight. Simply encourage your allies to attack the demon and keep deflecting any long range attacks. Move in when there is an opening to deal damage. Watch this video guide for more details.

Dong Zhuo

Weakness – Weak to Earth and Water phase spells.

Dong Zhou’s attacks are super fast, making it nigh impossible to deflect them if you’re not well-versed in the skill. Use the reinforcements to soak up the brunt of the attacks before you move in for the final shot. Watch this video guide for more details.

Zhao Yun

Weakness – Weak to Earth and Water phase spells.

Zhao Yun also relies on a spear to deal massive amounts of damage. His attacks are quick, so deflecting them will be paramount if you want to win. You can also maintain your distance and keep casting Imposing Slab to disrupt his flow. Watch this video guide for more details.

Cao Cao

Weakness – Weak to Earth and Fire phase spells.

You can easily avoid his slam attacks. It’s when he summons his phoenix that you should be weary of. The shockwave from the phoenix attack can damage you, so stand back to avoid it. You can deflect the rest of the blows and attack normally. Watch this video guide for more details.

Xiahou Dun

Weakness – Weak to Water and Earth phase spells.

You’ll need at least two reinforcements to beat Xiahou Dun. Most of his attacks are spins, and his body blends in with the red-colored markers of the critical blows, making it hard for you to deflect them. He also has a very fast movement speed, so use Imposing Slab to slow him down before attacking. Watch this video guide for more details.

Zhang Liao

Weakness – Weak to Wood and Earth phase spells.

Zhng Liao and Xiahou Dun’s share a similar fighting style. Simply use the same strategy, and you should have no trouble winning. Watch this video guide for more details.

Liu Bei

Weakness – Weak to Fire phase spells.

Maintain distance and cast Burning Flamewave when he gets closer to stun him. Hit him a few times and then get back. Repeat the cycle again and again to defeat Liu Bei. He also becomes vulnerable when buffing himself, so hit with a heavy attack when the opportunity arises. Watch this video guide for more details.

Leishi

Weakness – Weak to Fire phase spells.

Leishi is a big monster, so you’ll need two reinforcements to bring him down. Cast Imposing Slab. Now encourage your reinforcements to engage him, then walk up to him and cast the spell again. Also remember to deflect his lightning orbs, as they deal massive damage.

Lu Bu

Weakness – Weak to Water based attacks.

You can cancel his fire powers by using water-elemental Wizardry Spells. However, his main attack are his Critical Attacks, which have long wind-ups and can be deflected with precise timing. Watch this video guide for more details.

Hong Jing

Weakness – Weak to Fire based attacks.

Hong Jing becomes stationary when she’s casting spells, which is the perfect time to land heavy attacks. As the boss fight progresses, maintain your distance and keep deflecting her spells. The only attack that you can’t deflect is the lightning bolt. Watch this video guide for more details.

Yan Liang and Wen Chou

Weakness – Weak to Metal Wizardry spells.

Encourage your reinforcements to attack Yan Ling, and while they’re busy, you’ll be taking on Wen Chou. Once you’re done, help your allies with their fight. You can also dispose of Yan Ling when Wen Chou is stunned during the battle (he’ll be lying down on the battlefield). Watch this video guide for more details.

Liu Bei

Weakness – Weak to Fire Phase spells.

One of the toughest bosses in the game, Liu Bei can deal a lot of damage in quick succession. However, you can return a majority of that damage using deflect, but it’s going to be difficult. For the rest of the fight, maintain distance and encourage your allies to engage him. Drop in now and again to cast Imposing Slab, deal a few quick jabs, and return to a safe distance. Watch this video guide for more details.

Zhang Liao

Weakness – Weak to Earth Phase spells.

Always deflect critical blows, but do not use a normal, heavy, or counterattack right after them, as you’ll get caught in a flurry of quick stabs that are near-impossible to deflect, even with perfect timing. Keep deflecting his attacks and wait for him to approach you before attacking him directly. Watch this video guide for more details.

Yuan Shao

Weakness – Weak to Fire Phase spells.

Get close and cast your most powerful spell. When Yuan Shao is about to counterattack, jump backwards and deflect the attack to replenish your Spirit gauge. It’s a pretty easy boss fight, as you can see from the following video.

Yu Ji / Embodiment of Demonic Qi

Weakness – Get the following spells for the most damage and sustainability: Lightning Weapon and Absorb Vitality.

The human form is easy, but the dragon form is a different story. He constantly moves around, making it hard to pin him down and deal damage. Simply deflect all his attacks and wait for his Spirit gauge to run out, at which point you can perform Fatal Strike to deal massive damage.

Blindfolded Boy

Weakness – Weak to Water based attacks.

It’s going to be a difficult fight so make sure to collect all Dragon Vein Crystals and Essences if you want to survive the battle. The key to winning the boss fight lies in deflecting critical blows. Do not counterattack, and wait for the right opportunity to deliver a Fatal Strikes. Use this video as a reference for the boss fight.

Xiahou Yuan and Xiahou Dun

Weakness – Xiahou Yuan is weak to Fire attacks, and Xiahou Dun is weak to Light based attacks.

Maintain your distance and keep hammering both of them with spells from range. Wait for them to close in before attacking them directly. Watch this video for a quick reference.

Yuan Shao

Weakness – Weak to Fire based attacks.

It’s a rematch against Yuan Shao so it won’t be too difficult. He can’t move much, so approach him and cast your most powerful spell. Retreat once he is about to cast his spell and deflect them to build your Spirit Gauge. Here is a video guide to help you with the fight.
