Blizzard Entertainment’s long-running MMORPG World of Warcraft received its eighth major expansion in December 2020 with Shadowlands, and with support for that having wrapped up and its storyline having been concluded, players are waiting to find out what lies ahead for the game. Last month, Blizzard confirmed that the next World of Warcraft expansion would be revealed on April 19, and now we know exactly when on the day you can watch the announcement.
Blizzard has confirmed that World of Warcraft’s ninth expansion will be unveiled at April 19 at 9:00 a.m. PDT / 18:00 CEST, and will be streamed on both YouTube and Twitch. The company doesn’t say how substantial the reveal will be, but it does say we’ll get “a sneak peek at what’s next for the heroes of Azeroth,” so there’s that.
Recent leaks have suggested that the expansion is going to be called Dragonflight, which also hints at several interesting possibilities about the nature of the new content it’ll bring. Read more on that through here.
