2K Sports have unveiled a brand new NXT Collector’s Edition for WWE 2K17, and… I’m not sure I like it. See, it’s a pretty cool Collector’s Edition, NXT themed (in case the name didn’t give that away), and it comes with the Goldberg pre-order pack, an exclusive figurine, a lithograph signed by Nakamura, and a piece of authentic ring canvas from NXT: TakeOver: London.
Those aren’t the parts I am complaining about. It’s the other stuff, that is really going overboard with trying to push people into spending money on a more expensive version of the game. See, Shinsuke Nakamura, Nia Jax, and Apollo Crews will all be accessible in game only if you buy the Collector’s Edition. Plus, the Collector’s Edition includes the NXT Enhancement Pack, which will consist of a 50 percent boost in points earned during MyCareer- which is the game equivalent of buffing yourself up with drugs and steroids as an athlete.
I frankly find this kind of a thing despicable, and I do hope that 2K are called out on this by the fan community. WWE 2K17 is due out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC later this year.
