The post launch support for Xenoblade 2 has been nothing short of fantastic, and that continues with the latest update for the game, update 1.51, which is due out today. Unlike the previous updates for the title, which added a lot of content such as characters, quests, features, modes, music, as well as quality of life improvements and more to the game for absolutely free for everyone, this new update adds a bunch of content that’s mostly reserved for those who bought the game’s Expansion Pass.

This content includes a brand new Rare Blade named Hibana, as well as a bunch of new quests: Booster’s Sunken Ship (Available after Chapter 3), The Popular Pastry Chef (Available after Chapter 8, must have Rare Blades Gorg and Boreas.), Master Craftsman’s Accessory (Available after Chapter 7), Hot Spring Vacation In Mor Ardain (Available after Chapter 10, must have Rare Blades Sheba, Kora, and Kasandra with Lv. 3 One Lucky Gal.), and Mysterious Activation Code (Available after Chapter 10, must have Rare Blade Adenine with Extra-Ancient Wisdom Lv. 5.).

Additionally, it will add full difficulty customization (which had previously been leaked), new items and costumes, an Extreme Difficulty mode, and the option to play You Will Remember Our Names from Xenoblade 1 when battling a unique monster, and when Shulk and Fiora are in your party.

All in all, it’s a hefty update, and once again incentivizes the game’s Expansion Pass, which is already excellent value, and which will include the upcoming standalone expansion Xenoblade: Torna, The Golden Country. If you have not yet picked up Xenoblade Chronicles 2, you are hugely encouraged to- it’s a great RPG, quite unlike anything else available yet on the market. You can check out a video showing off Hibana for yourself below.
