Xenoblade Chronicles might not be Nintendo’s biggest seller, but the series has certainly enjoyed progressively more commercial success with each new release. It’s not surprising, then, that that upward trajectory seems to be continuing with its latest release.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launched last week, and seems to have got off to a great start where its sales are concerned. As per data provided by the Gfk (courtesy of GamesIndustry’s Christopher Dring on Twitter), the open world action RPG has seen the best launch ever for a Xenoblade Chronicles game in the UK to date.

It’s also the 5th biggest Nintendo Switch launch for 2022 so far. It comes in behind Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Nintendo Switch Sports, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and is placed above Mario Strikers: Battle League.

It’s worth noting that all of these figures only account for physical sales. That said, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has been the Switch eShop’s best-selling game since its launch, so the game’s clearly doing well on that front as well.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is available on Nintendo Switch. Our review of the game will go live in the coming days, so stay tuned for that.
