Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama and Director Daisuke Sato, who’re known for their work on the Yakuza franchise, have told Japanese gaming mag Dengeki that the development team behind the popular franchise is already “working hard” on its next game.

When asked about their next project in an interview, Sato confirmed that the team was indeed working on a new game, with Yokoyama following that up with a joke, saying that as salaried men, they couldn’t really sit idle for too long.

They did not announce anything yet, nor did they give us even a single hint as to what it is that they’re working on, but they did confirm that they might be able to make an announcement by the end of the year (if all goes right).

It could be a new Yakuza game that they’re working on, but we have no way to confirm that.

Stay tuned for more info.
