Say what you will about the new entry in the Yakuza series, when it decides to change up the franchise, it stays pretty dedicated to what it’s wanting to be. Yakuza: Like a Dragon takes the franchise into a hard turn into the turn-based RPG genre, with things like classes and jobs. And now we get a cool new mechanic that fits into this new mold.

The mechanic roughly translates to “Just Action” attacks. It’s somewhat similar to the Heat Action element of the previous titles. Just Action will implement action-based controls such as button mashing sequences or timed inputs. Each class and character will have their own unique such as the ‘Hero’ who uses a mega swing to swing the bat around and hit multiple enemies. You can see more via Gematsu who translated Sega’s information on the move.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will release sometime next year exclusively for PlayStation 4, and has gone gold in Japan. You can also see some bonus costumes based on the previous titles through here.
