Kazunori Yamauchi, Polyphony Digital’s president and the creator of Gran Turismo has gave us a few details about the upcoming updates for Gran Turismo 5.
During an interview with Famitsu, Yamauchi stated that he believes that GT5 needs to have updates every month, yet that did not happen yet.
Yamauchi said that the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 update will be region specific, stating that American players will get to start the GT Academy, while European players will be able to play in an online tournament called ‘SLS Challenge’, and the winner will receive a Mercedes SLS AMG in real life.
When asked about updates like new cars, courses and photo mode, he responded by saying that “they may be added as expansion content” but he might “leave it until the next title.”
