Xbox Live Games With Gold is usually a pale imitation of its much more substantial and healthier PS+ Instant Games Collection counterpart, but it has been improving lately, especially on the Xbox 360.
That said, the newest offering is sure to be a controversial one, as Red Faction Guerrilla, the controversial entry in the action games franchise by Volition (now better known for Saint’s Row), is now available for free to anyone with Xbox Live Gold. The game usually costs $20.
Critics generally loved the direction that Guerrilla went in, although fans were a bit more divided on the game; that said, for the price of free, it’s not going to to be much of an ask to at least give the game a go, It weighs in at 6.4GB, and, much like all other games on the Xbox 360 under the Games with Gold program, is yours to keep forever once you redeem it, even if you let your Xbox Live Gold subscription lapse.
