‘So, I just bought a Wii U, and I want to play ZombiU. Let’s buy it off the eSho-‘ NO! YOU WON’T.
Yeah, Nintendo won’t let you. Nintendo of Europe is blocking access to all content rated 18+ during daytime hours. So you cannot access those games’ information, or buy them off the eShop or anything.
This happens when no parental accounts have been set on your accounts. This is the message that appears if you try accessing 18+ content during daytime hours.
So, now, if you want to download games like ZombiU or Assassin’s Creed 3 or Ninja Gaiden 3 or Batman: Arkham City of the eShop, you’ll have to do it between 11PM and 3AM.
This was first spotted by a NeoGAFuser, and when the user inquired Nintendo about the same, they received the following reply: “Dear customer, we would like to let you know that Nintendo has always aimed to offer gameplay experiences suited to all age groups, observing carefully all the relevant regulations regarding content access that are present in the various European countries.
“We have thus decided to restrict the access to content which is unsuitable to minors (PEGI) to the 11pm – 3am time window.”
What the hell, Nintendo?
