Hideo Kojima, boss of Kojima Productions, has scrapped Zone of the Enders sequel and has also dismantled the development team. The Zone of the Enders HD Collection didn’t sell all that well it seems and Kojima feels disappointed by it.

He has announced that the team will be fixing some of the performance issues and the PS3 version will be patched. There’s no mention of the Xbox 360 patch.

It seems he’s not sure whether fans want a sequel to Zone of the Enders but he said that he will re-evaluate the series in future.

The game that was announced last year was going to be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and could have been something that would have done justice to the series. Maybe he can still give the game to Platinum Games and since their work rate is high, we may yet see a sequel.
