10 Of The Best Video Game Endings This Generation

This generation of games seems to have been one of beginnings and middles. So many games start with a righteous bang following up with a fantastic build up, but so few retain this sense of pace for their ending. The Cave, Assassin’s Creed 3, Far Cry 3; a mere snapshot of games I’ve recently played have merely disappointed with their ending sections.

That’s just one end of the spectrum though, as plenty of contemporary titles have featured a fantastic climax. A lot of articles have been written on the best endings of all time, but we’re looking specifically at the young blood here: Ten games of the seventh generation with truly awesome endings. This list will (unsurprisingly) contain heavy spoilers.

    This ending was so poignant it drew a tear to my eye I was glad I played this game just for this ending that we were granted, a very strong moment in my 36 years of gaming life.

    Out of all of these endings i can’t believe that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, or Majora’s Mask didn’t make…those games will bring a tear to your eye

      Not even close Majora’s Mask had a fantastic story but its no where near the best ending to a game, even Wind Waker and Twilight Princess had better endings

    The Legacy of Kain games (all of them) have wonderful endings to their stories, and while some are cliff-hangers, they never feel like they are leaving something out to draw out the series.

    when i played journey my thoughts on the ending and the story is about death and rebirth/reincarnation you die on the side of the mountain the you ascend to the afterlife in which you are “reborn” for another play through.

    cave story a pretty good endings
    even the one where you just leave everything is great and unique

    Heavy Rain, Infamous? those had good endings too!
