The fact that Cloud Strife would no longer be a silent protagonist in the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake was met with polarized responses from fans of the original classic, with some people appreciating the modernization of a true classic, and other crying foul at this quite drastic change. However, there’s some news that might work towards appeasing the latter half of the audiences.

Steven Burton, who is known for his voice overs as Cloud Strife in the Final Fantasy tie-in film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children as well as in several other games, such as Dissidia: Final Fantasy, World of Final Fantasy, and the Kingdom Hearts series, is going to be the voice actor for the character in the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake as well.

Burton recently took to Twitter to talk about his work on the game as the voice of Cloud, while his Twitte bio also confirms the same. Final Fantasy VII fans can probably rest easy knowing that someone who has so much experience with playing the character will be portraying him in the Remake as well.
