Gears of War 4

The Coalition are about to launch Gears of War 4 come October, and ahead of that launch, we are now rapidly getting to see more and more of the game. Take this new video, which you can see for yourself below, for instance- it shows us a good amount of the game’s campaign, and what we can expect from it.

Now, let me be clear upfront: this post and the video below both have spoilers. If you would rather not be spoiled on this game at all, best to hit that Back button on your browser. With that out of the way, let’s get right down to it.

For starters, the campaign looks far more impressive and focused than any previous campaign in the series since the original Gears of War– it almost seems to be channeling that game, or even Naughty Dog’s Uncharted franchise. That apart, there is also a neat surprise here for long time series fans, as it appears as though Marcus Fenix ends up joining your party. Marcus Fenix!

Gears of War 4 is due out on October 13 on the Xbox One and PCs running Windows 10.

I like the more horror slant this new game seems to have I also like the small additions to gameplay that keep the core fun intact while enhancing it and making things quicker. Things like being able to yank enemies over cover where previously you would normally have to jump over and have a 50/50 chance of being able to get a melee kill in or just dying. It keeps the combat flowing much smoother.

The game also looks visually pleasing and I can’t wait to take full advantage of it on PC.

U got an HDR set? I’ma buy a 4k HDR set next yr, but I really wanna see it to be convinced of the hype

Not yet. I’m waiting to see something from the amd Vega family before I decide what kind of new gpu to buy then I’ll buy a 4k TV and it will definitely support HDR. Shame I’ll miss out on all the xb1 games that support it starting soon but I’m not quite ready to upgrade yet. My living room TV is only 3 years old tops but I did recently replace my Sony 5.1 receiver with a Denon 4k HDR Atmos receiver so I’m ready. Just want prices to come down.

The difference in price between 65 inch and 70 is still way too high and I want a 70 because I sit about 7-9 feet away.

Meh. Graphical compromises shine through in classic MS style.
