When it comes to the Grand Theft Auto 5 story DLC, there are two very distinct camps. There are those who believe Rockstar Games have actually put the idea of a story DLC well behind them, even if the company isn’t willing to admit it just yet. The other camp has long been hoping there would indeed be some kind of story DLC coming, even though the company hasn’t put out any kind of announcement for quite a while now.
It appears that those who have been loyally waiting for some new story DLC might have been in the right all along. The rumors surrounding new story DLC have been ramping up in the last few weeks thanks in large part to a supposed insider who started talking about the possibility of a new mode centering around Liberty City DLC. The rumors are now ramping up even more thanks to one dataminer named LondonTown2004. Apparently the miner found some new files inside GTA 5 that pertain to the framework of a new DLC management system – a system that is geared towards the game’s single player portion.
The miner first ran into a screen that shows the Story Mode DLC cannot be loaded just yet (since it’s not installed). Digging a little deeper, the miner divulged that there appears to be a number of pieces of story mode DLC coming. Some of the DLC will apparently be offered as part of the package deal, while another piece or two will be purchased as new content. Now we’ll just have to see whether this information truly comes to be.
Thanks, Neogaf.
