Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC: Is it vital to the story?

Bioware fixed the much despised endings with the extended cut DLC that came out earlier, and now with the Leviathan DLC they aim to add an additional rift to the ending in their words.

Something lurks in the dark corners of space, something powerful enough to kill a Reaper. Shepard must discover the most closely guarded secret in the galaxy before the Reapers silence it forever. Discover more about the origins of the Reapers as you race across the galaxy to find the Leviathan. Unravel the dark history of the Reaper Race before it is too late.

Sounds good, but is this what players really want? The DLC does not impact the main story or the endings in any way and is something just additional story based content for Mass Effect 3 players to enjoy. This should have been included in the main game. A reaper arc where you get to find a weapon strong enough to destroy them is something that would have really suited the main game, but a DLC at this point seems completely useless.

If you don’t want to bother with playing the game again for the extended cut endings, you can watch them over here.

The DLC will be available for $10 or 800 MSP on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

I hate people like you, I utterly despise people like you. Personally, I think the world would be better off if we lined you all up and shot you. One by one. If Bioware made a singleplayer DLC with gameplay being its focus rather than story, I can guarantee you’ll be one of the ones saying “BUT MASS EFFECT IS ABOUT STORY, WHY NO STORY?” Fucking idiot. Mass effect IS about the story, to make a DLC which is not heavily story based would be an insult to their fans.

Someone seems a tad out of touch here…

  • Karktik Mudgal is Misinformed

Why is the internet so stupid? SMH! The Leviathan DLC will affect the ME3 ending…this is confirmed.

    • Actually Mike Gamble the producer confirmed on twitter that the dlc does not change the ending it just adds more cut scenes to it. So no your information is invalid, though the misleading information was nice while it lasted :/

So I will give you a thumbs up for effort Karktik Mudgal is Misinformed

    • Sumlosr

What are you talking about? He said the Leviathan DLC will “affect” the ending. Nowhere in his comment was the word “changed” used. Your entire comment was based off the assumption that he meant “change” where he said “affect”.

    • Rock1Star2

Change and affect mean roughly the same thing, their synonyms for each other. Either way something is being changed….

    • wtf

In other words, Mike Gamble the producer said that the ending would indeed be AFFECTED because more cut scenes would be added. Meaning that Karktik was right and that you`re a moron who has trouble understanding more than 10 words in a row.

Good job, I gave you a thumb down for effort. …wait.
