Mass Effect Andromeda

For the fourth Mass Effect game (and the first one in five years, ever since Mass Effect 3 capped off the original trilogy), Bioware are looking back to the original title that set off the series- while Mass Effect 2 and 3 were widely acclaimed for their focus on storytelling, characterization, and their highly refined gameplay, it seems the fourth game will return to the kind of focus on exploring strange worlds that has made the first one a fan favorite in so many circles.

“Internally, [Mass Effect Andromeda has] been called “the spiritual successor to ME1″ throughout its development,” said well known industry insider shinobi602 on NeoGAF. He also added that the recently leaked footage of Mass Effect Andromeda was from a far older build – a late 2014 one – which means that for good or for bad, the game no longer looks like that, any more.

No matter- what we are hearing of the game right now sounds extremely exciting. A game with the polish and refinement of Mass Effect 2 and 3, but with the exploration oriented focus of the original game? Sounds like a dream come true to me. As usual, this piece of information should be taken with a grain of salt but shinobi602 has a proven track record, so this is most likely true.

We will keep you updated as this builds.

    – micro transactions fest (leveling up, ship, weapons, suits, maps, oxygen, masks, tools, perks, strikes, ship parts, weapon parts, mako parts), EVERYTHING will have tonnes of items to buy

    – dlcs, locked characters day-1

    – multi-player MANDATORY forced down our throats WHILE playing the main SP campaign, along locked online trophies/achievements, to make single player games STILL/ALSO spend hundreds $ / € on the online items

    – several versions with exclusive content available on several outlets (impossible to have all the, ex. characters

    – expensive pre-orders with important content locked, to force people to pay the studio well before the game is out

    – just like Destiny, ME-ANDROMEDA will see tonnes of content, story, etc REMOVED, so they can justify the 2 or 3 20$ expansions, and keep a huge chunk of ME Andromeda on the shelves, to put it on the next ME:Andromeda v2′

    – even if we only play the main campaign, the online multi-player will be mandatory, and some parts of it, in order to progress faster, will require a full season pass

    – first game, with a season pass that will cost 60$. A premiere in the industry

I love the mass effect series, but it’s obvious they’re going to implement all this craap.

      Your life must really suck.

I Don’t want to be mean, but among among all my former girlfriends, those with a name like Tran and Nguyen were the ones who would suck the first.

Why would someone’s life suck, only because he is saying the next huge AAA title will be full of micro transactions of all kind?

Please, go out and breath : having electricity and Internet is cool, but that’s not all.

If the new Mass Effect launches in Feb 2017, it will STILL be less than 5 years since the last Mass Effect release. Not sure where you are going with the “5 years since a new Mass Effect at this point in time” bullcrap. Did you fail primary school maths?

Maybe it was a typo? Mass Effect 3 was launched on March 6, 2012, which of course is 4 years and 1 month ago.
