Now that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has been released onto the world, we’ve heard about a lost cutscene that was left out of the game for one reason or another. We knew it wouldn’t take long for that particular cutscene to hit somewhere so now someone uploaded it on Youtube. While there are some things that clearly aren’t finished the scene in general seems like one that certainly would have been an interesting idea.

The video is almost 19 minutes long and is a combination of the finished product and some footage that was clearly never completed. Sometimes the cinematic switches from what looks like content that could be put into the game right now, to drawings to just a screen of text that explains what’s going on or will go on from one scene to the next. There is also quite an interesting dichotomy going on between some of the many characters that are front and center in Phantom Pain.

The game has largely been a huge success since it was launched in large part because the game and the story behind it is huge as well. It isn’t clear whether or not the scene was taken out of the game because they were actually not interested in having it in the finished version or because they just didn’t get it done in time. Check out the video below and get a peek in what almost was a part of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
