The Xbox One usually runs at a 60hz refresh rate, but when it goes into its television mode, several channels and networks that run natively on 50hz, such as Sky, BT and Virgin in the UK, result in the system skipping some frames. This has been a major problem for people who’ve tried to utilize the Xbox One’s television functionalities while using EU & PAL integration, but Microsoft promises a fix for this issue will be released in an update within weeks.
“I can’t give you a specific date today, but I can tell you definitely that that issue will be resolved within a matter of weeks as one of the updates that we make to the console,” said Xbox UK’s Harvey Eagle. “I’m happy to confirm that that will be Spring time frame. I can’t be more specific than that, but it’s weeks, not months. It’s important and we’re excited to get that fixed as quickly as possible.”
