Hunt the truth.

343 Industries has taken Halo in a direction that it was never going in under Bungie, with more narrative depth and texture than the original games. The upcoming game, Halo 5: Guardians, will see series protagonist Master Chief face his apparently greatest personal challenge yet as he goes head to head with Agent Locke, who is hunting him for assumed treason.

343 has been playing up this showdown for a while now- they’ve talked about it, the trailers for the games have all focused on this aspect, and now, this new set of images that they released all seem to tease some sort of epic showdown or confrontation between Master Chief and Agent Locke.

How it all turns out is something we will find out when halo 5: Guardians releases exclusively on Xbox One later this year. As to my guess about who will emerge victorious? Who knows? Anyone is now fair game- for all we know, Master Chief is taken out, and Locke replaces him as the series’ protagonist.

It’s all up in the air for now.
