In a report from Japanese publication Nikkei, an insider noted that Nintendo’s NX platform – which heralds the company’s venture into mobile gaming – would use Google’s Android as a front-end user interface. The logic is that it would be easier for developers to create games for, if not provide a fairly good interface to provide for general users.
As it turns out, Nintendo has debunked the report. A spokesperson recently told the Wall Street Journal that, “There is no truth to the report saying that we are planning to adopt Android for NX.”
Nintendo has already said that NX won’t be at E3 2015 and we won’t be hearing any solid information about the platform until 2016. There will still be plenty of information on Wii U and 3DS titles when E3 rolls around.
