No Man's Sky Atlas Rises

Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky is receiving its third biggest content update today with Atlas Rises. The free update has promised story content and working Portals but there’s a lot more in store than we imagined.

Basically, Atlas Rises adds 30 hours of story content, missions that are procedurally generated, high fidelity textures and a co-op mode of sorts called Joint Exploration. Joint Exploration is interesting because you’ll see up to 16 other players exploring a planet. You can interact with them and use voice chat, thus coordinating to explore the world together if you so wish. Though limited, the studio noted that it was a first step in creating “synchronous co-op” for the game.

The update also contains a new race and will reveal more information about the Sentinels, the Gek, Atlas and much more. Features like low flight mode, new soundscapes courtesy of 65 Days of Static, freighter classes for ships and the aforementioned portals are also in-bound. The update will be going live today so check your Steam updates accordingly.

  • Mr Xrat

Funny how an NMS update has more original content than your average Xbone “AAA.”

    • greatnessIsaLIE

Yet this is worst than any Xbox one
It’s literally the worst game of the generation.
They gave out refunds because it was so bad. I was playing Ark when this came out. Which had more content than thus junk and was exclusive to xb1early access at the time.

Enjoy half assed versions of games compared to the xb1x.

    • Mr Xrat

Gonna have to do better than garbage from Brazilians which reminds everyone why they hate you so much.

“I was playing Ark when this came out.”

      LOL more fool you, then.

    • greatnessIsaLIE

It’s a way better game than

    • One With Shadows

      Says who?

    • greatnessIsaLIE

It got higher review scores even without the ps4 exclusive boost that games get. If it was a ps4 exclusive it would have a 9 rating.
You can tell it’s a better game because it has more playing online everyday.

    • One With Shadows

“You can tell it’s a better game because it has more playing online everyday.”

By your logic Justin Bieber is the best “rock” star out there. See what I did there? So really, in the end, the quality of the game is purely subjective to the player who either enjoys it or doesn’t enjoy it. To say that one is a “way better game” is fine to say as long as you don’t forget to add the all important IMO(in my opinion) to your comment.

    • greatnessIsaLIE

Yeah and by my logic the ps4 is also the best console right now.
The game is better because you can make villages, start wars, take over servers, raise and train animals, forge guns and much more all with your friends the entire time.
      It is my opinion though.

    • greatnessIsaLIE

The thousands who play ark vrs the hundreds on no man’s sky servers.

  • Holeybartender

I love NMS,never had a problem with it but stopped to play other stuff. Now it’s time for a revisit.

    • greatnessIsaLIE

I couldn’t get into it. It was too boring and repeatative. If I could’ve explored with friends and started wars with others I think it would’ve been better.

    • Holeybartender

Not me,I spent two weeks 8 hours a day straight on just the starter planet. It was just plain crack to me.

  • Learned Handgun

So 3 of xrat accounts will play… Going to be a great game lol
