The recent Public Test Realm update for Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch hasn’t just changed the way progress is tracked in Competitive matches. It also changed how Lúcio, the popular Support hero, plays.
Well, when we say “change”, we mean that his area of effect radius – which allows other players to receive healing or speed boosts accordingly – has been reduced from 30 meters to 10 meters. A visual radius circle has been added to indicate the overall distance of the effect. Sound Barrier’s radius has also been reduced from 30 meters to 20 meters.
Otherwise, it’s buffs across the board. Projectile speed has been upped from 40 to 50 with the alternate fire now influencing a target’s vertical orientation (it’s currently enough to knock back a Bastion in Sentry form, which wasn’t possible before). Healing per second has been increased by 50 percent which also applies to the Amp It Up ability. Movement speed while wall riding has been increased by 30 percent and Lúcio now receives a speed burst when jumping off of walls.
Again, this is on the PTR so time will tell if these changes actually hit the live servers. Thoughts otherwise? Let us know in the comments below.
