PlayStation VR Demo Disc Comes With A Massive Day One Patch

Even demo discs need day one patches, now.

The PlayStation VR is not going to get a pack in game, but to ensure that people who buy one can still get a taste for VR, Sony are going to be packing in a demo disc. It’s just like the old days, back when the original PlayStation came with a demo disc full of little snippets of some of the best upcoming games on the system.

However, it seems like, unlike on the original PlayStation, you can’t just come home and put it into your system and start playing- instead, it seems like there’ll be a day one update for it of some sort. That’s right, in 2016, even demo discs require day one updates and patches.

Twinfinite is reporting that the demo disc will require a rather hefty 6GB download- which honestly can put a lot of more casual customers just looking to test out their new toy off of it for a while, I imagine. Still, I guess that’s just the state of console gaming these days- the times of plug and play are long gone, now.
