As has been the case since the PS4 first launched, Sony has been releasing smaller operating system updates right alongside those larger ones that totally revamp the service. Playstation update 3.11 has now officially launched and it certainly counts as one of the smaller updates to launch in the last few months. This update isn’t going to be bringing wholsale changes, but the company did announce on its Twitter page the update will allow people’s PS4s to run smoother.

The system update is relatively small, clocking in at 238MB. There might be a bit of a disappointment when it comes to this particular update specifically because gamers have known for a while that Sony was looking for suggestions on just what they should put in their next launch.

Obviously, this isn’t the launch or system update that they were talking about. It’s possible the move to make the console run smoother might at least pave the road for this bigger update. We’ll just have to wait and see what Sony has up its sleeve when it comes to the next PS4 update.
