PlayStation VR

SCEA and Shuhei Yoshida clarified in the wake of the PlayStation VR’s price announcement that a bundle was heading to North America that would include the PS Camera and PS Move. But what about a bundle containing the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR?

According to SCE Europe president and CEO Jim Ryan a PS4/PSVR bundle is not happening anytime soon. “No, we won’t do it at launch. I think we will wait and see just how well this thing is received in the market over the period of months and it may be one thing we could look at. It would be quite an expensive bundle,” he said in an interview with Game Reactor.

Instead the company is opting for wait and see approach because according to Ryan, the tech still needs to prove itself in the market.

“We are still a number of months away from launching this thing. We are very excited about VR but its not proven so we will see how it goes and then we will start thinking about the future. We are very encouraged, we are very optimistic and very intrigued by VR. We hope it’s going to be a success and we think it’s going to be a success but at this stage it will be really premature to start looking at things that would compromise the nature of the basic PS4 experience.”

PlayStation VR is out in October 2016 and Sony is currently tracking more than 50 games for release by 2016 end. Are you planning to pick up the VR headset? Let us know in the comments.
