Microsoft announced yesterday that it would be moving its E3 show from its traditional Monday morning spot to Sunday evening- it was an interesting change, as it now gives Microsoft its own day at E3 (previously, Sony’s conference would follow Microsoft’s a few hours later, with Nintendo getting the next day all to itself).

What, then, was Microsoft’s reason for this move? Responding to a fan who asked him this very question on Twitter, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said that he is ‘confident’ of what Microsoft has to show at E3 this year, while at the same time also apologizing to European viewers, for whom the Xbox stream will now be too late in the night.

Spencer also took a moment to address the question of more PC and Xbox One games- with Cities Skylines and Path of Exile being two PC games that are coming to Xbox, Spencer pointed out that Microsoft’s initiatives in making Xbox One and PC game cross ports easy will hopefully encourage more PC developers to target Xbox, too.

Maybe a lot of these formerly PC exclusive games will be announced at Microsoft’s E3 show this year. Of course, the star of that show, as we all know, will be the upcoming Xbox One Scorpio, which is due out later this yea.

Wow, what a pathetic life you must have if you define yourself by what console you play. So very sad.

I wish I could play God of War, Shenmue, or the FF7 Remake or any of those megatons

And be counted as worthy competitors hopefully, Sony is kinda getting bored looking for competition.

You already got your ps5 whether you like it or not. It’s called pspro…lol
You know , that machine that can’t do 4k natively and can’t play movie discs..lol

Before you throw stones with that comment you should realize that the new game Nioh on PS4 runs at 720p in action mode. Both consoles were/are underpowered from launch.

“Nioh on PS4 runs at 720p in action mode”

I wondered if Nioh ever did got released on Xbone what the resolution would be. Would it be 720p or 480p in action mode. Just thankful that the game allows for 1080p at 30fps mode on PS4 too.

    • Eagles83

Relax, not trying to tread on your Sony fanboy feelings. I am playing Nioh on the Pro and loving it. Just pointing out that the machine of your choice is far from perfect.

    • Tactical Lag-fighting tips

Would of meant 340p on the media box if 720p on the PS4,
guess they decided PS4 only because sub HD was far 2 salty.

Dude it is a plastic box. No need to build up hate for the one you didn’t buy. Just enjoy what you have and love life.

Playing Horizon in 1080p so yeah.

xbox fans busy snapping in TV with their laggy and stuttery IU I guess

    • Eagles83

I played Horizon as well which is a fantastic game. The original point is that both systems were underpowered at launch and bringing up one example game doesn’t disprove that.

  • Mr Xrat

What else is he going to say?

Nearly a month on and Phil is still doing his damage control on Twitter. Scalebound’s cancellation must have stung that loser fanbase a lot.

  • Truthhurts24

All Microsoft has to say to have a great E3 is announce a whole lot of AAA games for Xbox and make sure Scorpio can set games at native 4k60fps standard and 1080p 60fps standard

    • SHEEKEN6969

They need the games BAD! Cause what good is it to have all the power in the world if you dont have the games to enjoy it with. And Please MS no more Halos and Gears for another year please! Bring something new to the table and not the same old boring crap.

    • KashIsKlay

Sunset Overdrive, Ori and The blind Forest, Alan Wake, ReCore, State Of Decay, Cuphead, and Ryse weren’t New IP?

    • Truthhurts24

I agree with everything you said they have to bring new ips from different genres something unexpected to have a Wow factor at this E3. And the most important thing they have to address in my opinion is keeping games totally exclusive to Xbox to give it an identity and allow those that purchase Xbox first to be able to stream it to Windows 10 not just allow all their games to be played on Windows that was not a wise decision from Spencer to me I hope he changes his mind on that because its hurting Xbox.

    • Luke Skywalker

I think they’ll have a great E3. With most people interested in the Scorpio’s hardware specs and a lot of people have already written them off on games. I believe they’ll deliver on all fronts.

4k60fps won’t be standard, it depends on the type of game or how the dev wants to portray their games. So I can see that res and fps in some games…Maybe madden, fifa, 2k, forza etc but 4k30 in a lot of others.

    • Truthhurts24

Im not saying all games will be 4k native 60fps I know that will not happen because Microsoft has announced they will allow devs the freedom to use Scorpios Gpu and Cpu power however they see fit. But Im talking about what the console should be capable of doing when used by devs that it can set games to 1080p or 4k 60fps. I really want Scorpio games to have 60fps though because I will take that over resolution any day as long as the rez is not below 900p.

Surely we will have more PC games on Xbox.

  • Gamez Rule

More efforts to win back PC gamers and Microsoft looks very committed to PC gaming. So my question is are we going to see anything on Scorpio that isn’t on PC already?
